Panel Discussion: Differing Perspectives on Information Governance
Moderated by Tina Teree Baker, IGP, President, Cadence Group
The phrase “Information Governance” seems to be like “Knowledge Management” – the definition is different depending on the person attempting the definition! This Panel discussion between thought leaders in RIM, eDiscovery, IT Governance, and Security/Declassification will focus on issues and trends in Information Governance as it relates to their specific fields. Topics discussed will include the impact of new technology, the increasingly electronic nature of information, the operationalization of Information Governance, and threats to the integrity of information. In addition, the speakers will outline how they foresee their respective fields evolving in the near term and longer term to handle these impacts and what they need from each other. The panel hopes that by exploring the varying perspectives of each stakeholder, the audience will take away knowledge and insight about the broad field of information governance as well go forward strategies on how Information Governance professionals from different fields can work together to achieve common goals. This promises to be a very lively evening!
Our Panel
Moderator: Tina Teree Baker, IGP serves as the President of the Cadence Group, a Records and Information Management firm headquartered in Atlanta, since 1988. She leads 50+ employees creating efficient, compliant, and adaptable information governance solutions for federal agencies and global corporations across a broad range of industry and size. She brings over 25 years of experience leading teams in developing and operationalizing world class information management and records compliance programs. She is a certified Information Governance Professional, and has a masters’ designation in Electronic Records Management and a BIS in computer graphics.
Scott Wandstrat is a partner at Arnall Golden Gregory LLP in Atlanta, Georgia. In addition to being one of AGG’s tallest attorneys, Scott is a member of the AGG’s Litigation, Healthcare, and Governmental Investigations and Special Matters Practices. He is also the chair of the Electronic Discovery Practice. An unapologetic nerd, Scott enjoys a well-earned, national reputation as a “go-to” lawyer for electronic discovery issues. His clients and colleagues praise his practical, cost-effective guidance on even the most frustrating aspects of e-discovery. When asked, Scott has attributed his success, in part, to his fluency in Techspeak, Legalese, and (thankfully) plain English. In addition to his work on e-discovery matters, Scott maintains an active government investigation and business litigation practice.
